Boa Lacing System

On-The-Fly

"Hold up. I need to tie my shoe." In your lifetime, you've said this countless times. Or, while on a bike ride, who has not wrestled with a ratchet closure or bald Velcro® strap to adjust the closure to just the right fit?

Marathoners have passed and been passed because of untied shoelaces or the need to stop and fidget with a fit adjustment. The same holds true for other sports where time is of the essence and seconds are precious.

The Boa Lacing System allows micro-adjustment on-the-fly -- that is, the shoe or boot fit can be altered in a matter of seconds or even tenths of a second. Snowboarders often tighten their boots as they're already sliding downhill. Try doing that with traditional shoelaces or a drawcord. Trail runners stop, reach, tighten, and go -- in far less time than it takes to tear open an energy gel.

Boa is also beginning to attract the attention of triathletes, who are always in search of ways to shave milliseconds from their transitions. Easy on, easy off -- whether putting on the bike shoes or switching to the running leg.

In this summer's Tour de France, cyclists could reach down mid-pedal stroke and adjust the tightness of their shoe, all while the peloton smoothly pulled them along.

And, on your hike up the local peak, you will never need to wrestle with the tangled morass of shoelaces while your friend or spouse glances at their watch, waiting ... waiting ... waiting.
